Now, some updates and corrections for existing entries. Some of the following entries were augmented by info gleaned from recent postings at the Golden Ninja Warrior Chronicles website. Anyone with even a passing interest in this obscure corner of cinematic history will find plenty to entertain them over there!

Contrary to info I supplied in the blog entry for 29 March 2012, Gary Couzens has since provided evidence that the TV movie HOLY FLYING CIRCUS (2011) was shot at the 2.00:1 aspect ratio. Two sequences are framed at 2.35:1, and another one is 'pillarboxed' at 4:3. This is somewhat confounding since, outside the ultra-rare use of Vittorio Storaro's 'Univisium' format, 2.00:1 does not conform to any theatrical aspect ratio anywhere in the world. The film may have played theatrically outside the UK and would need to be 'pillarboxed' within the wider 2.39:1 projected image. On TV, the 2.00:1 shape isn't all that different from the 1.78:1 frame, so the visual difference will be completely negligible on most sets, especially those suffering from overscan (ie. the vast majority of them!). But no, the film was definitely intended for 2.00:1 exhibition, and the blog entry for 29 March 2012 has now been amended.

Footage from IL CHI-MAE: THE FLYING BOY (1978) was later used as the 'building blocks' for cut-n-paste film THUNDER NINJA KIDS: WONDERFUL MISSION (1990), produced in Hong Kong (see new entry, above).

Thanks to correspondent Gary Couzens, I'm reminded that the Todd-AO version of OKLAHOMA! (1955) was shot at 30 frames per second - this important detail has now been added to the entry for this film. See also the 1956 version of AROUND THE WORLD IN EIGHTY DAYS for another Todd-AO movie shot at 30 fps.

The original Thai title of the film currently listed as Paa Lohgan (1984) has now been confirmed as ฝ่าโลกันต์, and the English title (which now becomes primary, with Paa Lohgan discarded) is AGAINST THE WORLD. This movie was used as the 'building blocks' of Hong Kong production ROBO VAMPIRE (1989), but due to a small oversight, the entry for Robo in the online filmography remains incomplete - those details have now been added. However, Robo credits the pseudonymous 'Joe Livingstone' as director, and his true identity has yet to be established (it was long assumed to be the handiwork of cut-n-paste master Godfrey Ho Jeung-keung, but the man himself denies any involvement).

Gary Couzens reminded me that TESS (1979) was screened in a 70mm blow-up version (the large format print premiered in France in October 1979).

VAMPIRE RAIDERS: NINJA QUEEN (1988) is built around footage from Hong Kong film MIXED UP (1984). See the new entry for Mixed above.
