Updates ("Daimajin" series revised, etc.)

The copyright date for Neil Marshall's CENTURION has been changed from 2010 to 2009, while the copyright date for WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN has been changed from 2011 to 2010.

CHALLENGE THE NINJA (1986): Director Godfrey Ho Jeung-keung is credited on-screen as 'Joel Law'. However, this entry remains incomplete because the identity of the Filipino film used as the template for this 'cut-n-paste' epic has yet to be identified.

All listings for the Daimajin series of films produced in Japan in 1966 have now been completely revised. The confusion surrounding these entries occurred because the US home video distributors released them under different names over the years, sometimes giving two of them the same title from one release to another (for example, two of the films were released as WRATH OF DAIMAJIN), leading to no end of frustration for researchers. Hopefully, this revision puts the mystery to bed once and for all, at least for the purposes of this filmography.

EROS SCHEDULE BOOK: CONCUBINE SECRETS and SENSUAL HISTORY: SHOGUN'S HAREM SECRET STORY are AKA's for CASTLE ORGIES (1971).

MAGNIFICENT FIST is directed by Kun Aug, and the copyright year 1978 has now been confirmed.

The film currently listed as Real Kung Fu of Shaolin Pt. 1 should be given as simply REAL KUNG FU OF SHAOLIN (1980), while Shao Lin Brothers is actually SHAOLIN BROTHERS (1980).

Updates and corrections from my regular correspondents:

First off, Gary Couzens writes to say BRAN NUE DAE (2009) has been retitled BRAND NEW DAY in some English-speaking territories.

Though printed on colour film stock, THE GENERAL (1997) was printed in - and intended for - black and white.

MAD DOG is an AKA for Philippe Mora's MAD DOG MORGAN (1976).

MAD MAX BEYOND THUNDERDOME (1985) was co-directed by George Miller and George Ogilvie.

And S. Martin writes to confirm that CHÉRI (2009) employed a number of different anamorphic lenses during principal photography - Technovision, J-D-C and Kowa.

The Japanese film OUTRAGE (2010) employed Kowa anamorphic lenses.

THE APPARITION (2012) is confirmed as having been shot with J-D-C and Panavision anamorphic lenses.

BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT (2009) and MARGIN CALL (2011) were both photographed and exhibited at 1.85:1 and have now been dropped from the filmography altogether.

My thanks to both correspondents for their contributions this time round.
